Will my health insurance cover this program?
Typically, the answer is no. However, all providers are US licensed clinicians and a medical bill with procedure codes for medical services will be provided. This said, Health Saving Accounts are usually easily accessed for reimbursement and documentation for medical tax deductions are provided if requested. It is very unusual, yet from time to time we have been paid by insurance companies who are managing a self-insured company.
Is the program effective?
The answer for this question depends on many variables, however we can clearly state that we have worked with many treatment resistant couples and families and have found the opportunities available in this unique program highly effective in resetting troubled relationships. To be far away from the stress and distractions of home, intensively focused on shifting the pattern within relationships, while having fun together on a wonderful vacation is a powerful mix.
Do couples and/or families interact with other couples and/or families who are in the program?
No – we serve only one couple or family at a time.
Are there situations that are not appropriate for this program?
Yes, families or couples with an ongoing issue of physical aggression are not appropriate for this program. All other situations can be discussed with the clinical director to determine their appropriateness for the program. Highly acting out adolescents with substance abuse issues are not appropriate for many settings.
